Well… we made it… Week 10!!! Excellent job. As we finish up the course, I want to provide you with one last opportunity to talk with your group members, touch base, get feedback, and feel confident about the end of the quarter. (I mean, you could obviously stay in touch with folks… but it’s the last meeting within in the context of the course.)
Here are the tasks for this week’s group discussion (follow the links for a more detailed explanation):
1. Talk about the Research Project and your Work-in-Progress Updates and other stuff
As I explain on the website, by the beginning of this week, you should have posted a link to your work-in-progress update in order to get feedback from multiple folks. That said, there is also obvious benefits from talking with your group about the research project and how you’re doing with it. Use this time to share drafts, concerns, anxieties, questions, successes, etc. Really try to make the most of the opportunity to talk about it and get as much feedback as possible regarding your final research projects. In other words, you have an immediate audience available – use them.
As a friendly reminder, your final research projects, handouts/reflections (extra work option), and any and all make-up work should all be completed in your individual folder by the end of the day, Wednesday June 10th (by the time I wake up Thursday, June 11th). **Please email me about any make-up work that you complete.**
2. Talk about the material
This week, the material is other students’ WIPUs. I want to encourage you to talk about videos you watched and consider: what stood out to you? what did you find effective? what ideas do you think have traction? what might you take away from others’ approaches to help with your own research project? Really… just spend time talking about the awesome work that others in the class are doing, reflect on it all, and also take a moment to appreciate and congratulate one another.
